MESSAGE

The idea for the logo of Flying Ship Studios came from a childhood drawing of a flying ship by Jean-Pierre Blanchard, the first man in history to cross the Strait of Dover in a hot air balloon.

I was moved by this real life story of a man who drew something that couldn’t possibly fly, only to accomplish such an amazing feat later in his life. That’s why I decided to use it as our logo.

I also liked the idea that the company’s name should directly be linked to the logo. That’s why we are called Flying Ship Studios. The name is also a symbol of our idea that animation should be something that takes children on a fun journey to another world, and our hope to continue searching for works that are of value, and that have a huge impact on people’s lives.

Since my childhood days not only have I loved animation, but there have been times that I was saved by it, and times that it changed my life. I’m running this company because I want to create animation that has the same kind of impact on the lives of younger generations.

Every day I pour my heart into the creation of high-quality works of animation for children, and do my best to spread them around the world.

MESSAGE

One of our big goals for Flying Ship Studio since the beginning was to create our own original anime to share with the world, something that would amaze and surprise everyone. We spend every day working towards that goal, but it'll take more than just
talk and ideals to get there.
Of course, it takes a lot of things to make that goal a reality, but there's one thing we believe is particularly important.

When people grow, our company grows, and we can never reach our goal unless our company grows.

My job at the company is primarily directing and quality control on the projects I’m involved in, but my other big mission, which President Numaguchi and Vice President Takayanagi have entrusted me with, is training the next generation.

I believe that the most important things that a CG company like ours has are our workers, who participate in the creative process with us, and their passion and
creativity. I feel that it’s my job to do everything I can to train not only our veterans, but our newer, younger members, who have a bright future ahead of them.
To help them grow, I teach them all the knowledge and skills that I have, and sometimes, when I have to, I scold them harshly. I believe that this will truly help them grow in the future, and I want them to be successful not only as CG designers but also as people.
I think that the result of my efforts will be to eventually help the company grow to the point where we can make something wonderful. Until that day comes, I’m going to do my best, both with my work and for the people I work with.
